Pixel Knock Grid Generator

Upload an image and generate a 3D printable pixel grid STL for pixel art, mosaic, knock board, and craft block projects. All processing runs locally in your browser.

Pixel Knock Grid Generator

Turn an image into a 3D printable pixel grid STL. No base plate, just 1mm walls around each active pixel.

This tool generates a no-base pixel grid STL. Each active pixel is enclosed by printable walls, making it suitable for colorful craft blocks and hands-on pixel art projects.
No file selected

Images are processed locally in your browser.

Tip: Use a solid-color or transparent background. Complex backgrounds, shadows, gradients, or noisy images may cause extra grids or incorrect color groups.

For real printing, 4-8 colors are recommended. Increase this if you want more detail.

Balanced color reduction, recommended.

Merges close colors to reduce gradients and similar shades. Higher values create fewer, more printable colors.

Adds empty space around the subject for a more centered and finished layout.

Controls the fit between blocks and the grid. Larger values make blocks looser, smaller values make them tighter.

Recommended: 0.4mm. If blocks are too tight, increase to 0.5-0.6mm. If they are too loose, decrease to 0.2-0.3mm.

Similar colors are merged to reduce extra groups caused by shadows, gradients, and highlights. For real-world making, 4-8 colors are recommended.

Bed fit

The usable area may be smaller because of slicer limits, nozzle mode, purge/wipe towers, or protected zones. Always check the final layout in your slicer.

The project ZIP includes the printable STL grid, OBJ + MTL color preview, separated color block OBJ + MTL, PNG preview, CSV color list, and README.

The color preview OBJ shows the assembled result. The separated color blocks OBJ places blocks by color group for easier printing or preparation.

Upload an image and click “Generate preview” to compare the original image with the pixel preview.

What is this tool?

Pixel Knock Grid Generator turns an image into a 3D printable pixel grid for hands-on craft projects. It runs locally in your browser, creates a no-base STL grid, and calculates the required block count for each color group.

How to use it

  1. 1Upload a PNG, JPG, or WEBP image.
  2. 2Adjust grid count, max colors, cell size, wall thickness, and wall height.
  3. 3Choose a crop mode, set padding cells, remove near-white background, and generate a preview.
  4. 4Review required blocks, color groups, and overall frame size.
  5. 5Download the STL grid, PNG preview, CSV color list, or the complete project ZIP.
